An introduction to the structure of graphite and related carbon materials will be presented. We will discuss a theoretical approach, based on a Dirac-Weyl equation, for analysis of physical properties of carbon materials in the vicinity of the Fermi point in the continuum limit. Within our approach, we will show how a geometry and topological features can affect the electronic structure of various carbon nanomaterials like nanotubes, cones and fullerens.
